The Cooperation Milwaukee Solidarity Economy Network is a time bank on hOurworld.org. hOurworld connects all varieties of time banks, mutual aid networks and local credit exchanges under one roof. This allows interaction between member exchanges everywhere, as their interests and needs arise. Members can post offers or requests, and can view both local and international offer/request posts.

A service exchange or time bank is a network of individual “members” who provide services, track and bank their hours and then spend those hours to get their own needs met. A service exchange is NOT a barter network, since nothing is “exchanged.” One member provides a friendly, neighborly favor to another and records the time they spent doing so.

For example, Person A might need help mowing his lawn, but offers to help others with house painting. Person B might request help with painting from Person A, and then help Person C with grooming her dog. Person C might help Person D learn new cooking techniques. Person D might mow Person A’s lawn.
